When the assistant pastor blessed himself at the benediction, he seemed to do so in the Eastern manner. I went to the LCMS website, and was surprised that in an article on making the sign of the cross, the Eastern way was given as the default option. Have Lutherans always done this?

My edition of your video appears not to work. There's no 'Graham Kendrick' on it is there (before I try and get it fixed)?

Billy, that jives with the report of my old Lutheran pastor, who learned the sign of the cross from an LCMS leaflet. He assumed it was just a "We're not Romans" thing.
