Notice

Readers in the Greater Toronto Area might be interested to know that on Monday 7 December at 5.15pm, the Lord's Supper will be celebrated in Trinity College Chapel according to the rite of 1552. Communicants should notify the Dean of their intention in advance at d DOT neelands AT utoronto DOT ca.

Arrgh! They inflicted that on us once in Theological College Chapel. North end, no candles prebyter in cassock, gown and bands: that's the sort of stuff I left the Presbyterian Kirk of Scotland to avoid!

And yet I found it far more tolerable last year than anything involving streamers and/or liturgical dance.

The Liturgy will NOT be celebrated "according to the Rite of 1552" if the lady priestess called Chaplain - or indeed, any other female purporting to be a priest - is present and vested and/or participating. No such deviation from the practice of the Church Catholic had been foisted on the faithful in 1552.

Surely they'd got around to letting women "participate" by 1552!
