St John's, Shaughnessy

The congregation of St John's, Shaughnessy, in Vancouver appear to be labouring under the misapprehension that they can leave the Anglican Church of Canada, while still a) remaining in the Anglican Communion, and b) keeping it's building. Just to reiterate, 1) the Anglican Church of Canada is the sole province of the Anglican Communion in Canada, and 2) parishes do not have a legal existence apart from their dioceses.

Did you know their rector is originally from the Diocese of Sydney, and that his father was the former Archbishop of Sydney too?

I heard that he had trained at Moore. That certainly explains a lot.

Double checking, it appears he is a retired suffragan of Wollongong.

Logic will not stop this idiocy.

David Short is the son of retired Bishop Ken Short of Wollongong, a region within the Diocese of Sydney.
Yes this is another example of attempts by Sydney Evangelicals to spread their tentacles.
